Handwork, hessian bags

Jenna and Erin have been working on their handwork this week and they made hessian embroidered bags. They are so easy to make. Just cut a rectangle big enough so that when you are finished sewing on a design on one end you can fold the hessian over and stitch it into a bag. You can pull a few strands of the hessian out on each side to make a fringe. They used wool for a shoulder strap, but you could also finger knit or french knit a shoulderstrap. It could even be a drawstring bag. The possibilities are endless....
