Oh, Linda - the subtle colors in that shot. Breathtaking. Heartbreaking. And the bales in the fields. Reminds me so much of England - South Africa is beautiful. So much variety. Is that an acasia tree? I love the rolling land and the little stream. Tell me - because Africa is such a mystery to me - does the fence keep the cattle out of the fields? Do the predators come to land like this? Would you ever wake to a leopard in that grass by the stream? Oh, and coming back to the color. The color.
Dear K I am pretty sure that is an Acasia tree, they are so beautiful. The fences are there to separate the farms and also to keep the game from crossing to other farms. There are no great predators here on this farm, just a lynx, jackals and a few foxes. Such a pretty place to visit, I can't wait for us to go there in January:) Lovely to hear from you my dear friend:) xo Linda
Happy Solstice to you Linda and your family. I think I would rather be celebrating a summer one than a winter one this year although my friend posted a gorgeous photo of Stonehenge in the snow on her FB page, it looked magical!
My partner and I have always wanted to visit south africa, he is especially drawn to it! Ah maybe one day when we are old and grey, well him anyway, I am quite a few years younger lol
When I saw this photo I thought to myself "that is South Africa" I looks just like when I was there. I love your country and hope to visit again soon.
