Whale Knitting Pattern

Yes! It's a whale! So many of you guessed correctly:) I have had such wonderful fun designing this whale. His name is Glider, the whale and he is knitted all in one piece, except for his side fins. I knitted him in the round with the magic loop, but DPNs work just as well. I have used double knitting (DK) wool and 4mm circular needles.
During the design process, I knitted up to a point and then I thought to myself, how am I going to knit this tail, so I just sat and stared at my knitting for a while... I really didn't want to knit separate pieces and sew them together or even have to shape tiny pieces. Then it came to me, it was a wonderful realisation and I carried on knitting, just shaping and the tail appeared! It was so exciting, really!!
His pattern is available in my Etsy shop.

Here's a close up of the tail.

I have also given this whale a little blowhole on the top of his body. His eyes are needle felted on.
If you would like a chance to win a pattern, just leave a comment below, I am giving away 2 patterns.
I will announce the winner tomorrow in this post:)
Have a lovely day,
Linda

    1. He is a beauty. We have a whale as our business logo and have whale toys on the dash of our trucks that we have collected over the years. Glider would make a lovely addition to our pod - LOL

  2. As I am looking closer at all the details on Glider, I am blown away. And what a sweet expression.

You can read this and then delete it. I didn't mean to give myself another chance to win. I just had to tell you how incredible he is and, again, how talented YOU are.
