We had a very busy household yesterday. It was the end of the World Cup here in South Africa and we celebrated this final day of soccer with good friends. We decided to make it a fun experience, our friends brought a Dutch dish and we made a Spanish one. We chose to make Paella. I have never made Paella before so it was a real treat to make. We were all in the kitchen the whole afternoon. Richard, the girls and myself all cooking together... The closing ceremony of the World Cup was fantastic! The elephants walking around the pool of water, this was truly phenomenal... And to see Nelson Mandela being driven across the soccer field was humbling and inspirational... I felt so proud to be a South African last night, I thought my heart would burst! This Cup has done wonders for our country, it has brought so many people together and has united this beautiful land of ours. I will honestly miss watching the soccer games and I can't believe that our World Cup has come and gone. It was such a grand experience...
The Paella in progress... it really did turn out wonderful and we will definately be adding it to our menu... What a lovely family effort. Joan's Dutch dish was also equally yummy!
Everyone tucking in...
Stan, with his guitar which is never too far away from him always plays us awesome music...
Oh and I just had to include this. Charlie is actually lying on one of my wheat grass trays, I mean really the cheek of it:)
AYOBA South Africa!
