Black and White Wednesday and WIP Wednesday...

Black and White Wednesday is fast becoming a lot of fun, I am so thrilled that some of you have been taking part:) This special boy below is Charlie. He is extremely sweet and more human than cat. I swear he seems to understand us when we talk to him and looks right into our eyes with such understanding... He is Erin's cat and he adores her... He is so clever, he will come into the bedroom early in the morning, stretch out his forearm and proceed to move the door backward and forwards because he knows it will creak if he does this and he KNOWS that we will get up out of bed and feed him! See, told you he is clever... I just loved this photo and had to share it:)

Now for our WIPS'

This is Erin's blanket she has been crocheting in a Merino yarn, it is almost as big as her at the moment...

This is Jenna's blanket she has just started crocheting, it reminds me of ice cream, lovely...

I have started knitting unicorns again, I love knitting unicorns, they are so magical...

I have also joined the Tour de Fleece on Ravelry, I am really loving this. Every year, during the Tour de France cycling race, Ravelry has a Tour de Fleece. Everyone who joins, spins something everyday, just as the cyclists spin, we spin our yarn on our wheels! Tremendous fun! You join a spinning team and share your spinning photos each day on Ravelry. Awesome stuff! I am also getting to spin up my huge stash of rovings that are in my yarn cupboard:) The photo above is a Merino Bamboo blend. Today I am finishing a camel silk roving that is called Midnight, the deep blues, reds and purples in it are wonderful...

Don't you just love these! I saw the tutorial on Ariella's blog and now we can't get enough of them! Jen and Erin are sitting here now working away with pentagons, glueing them together. They look so amazing at night, all bright and glowing little stars:)

Have a great day everyone:)

Knitted Dachshund

I have been working on a knitted Dachshund pattern this weekend, althought I thought I was finished last week, I was not 100% happy, I have completely changed the pattern and now he looks just like a little Dachshund, with a tapering tummy and a slender tail, his neck also rises up ever so gently, a proud fellow indeed! He will be going into my Mamma4earth shop today and soon I will also be selling his pattern too:)

I have already started designing a pattern for a white woolf, I am very excited about this!
Have a great day...

Wood Pile Nest Update

Yesterday I took a walk around to our wood pile to see how the mama Rock Pigeon was doing on her nest and I noticed that there was an egg lying to the side of the nest. She was not there at the time and I was worried she had lost one of her eggs. We climbed up quickly and quietly to pop the egg back into the nest and to our surprise, this is the little guy that we discovered when we reached the top of the ladder! The egg was an old one that I think the mama had pushed out of the nest a while ago. Oh my, he is so cute, covered all over with his yellow fluffy feathers. I quickly took a couple of photos from a distance and just zoomed in with my camera.  His mama was nearby on the garage roof keeping a watchful eye. She is back with him now. Isn't nature amazing?

New Items in the Shop

A few of my new items that have been added to my shop today...

Rust coloured Dachshund...

Handspun Camel Silk, this was amazing to spin...

Another Camel Silk I handspun which has already been reserved:)

I must tell you this, the other night we had mushrooms with our dinner, Kye (4 years) saw one on Erin's plate and was very concerned and said to her, "Erin, you must not eat that mushroom or you will have a fairy trapped in your tummy!" I thought this was precious...

Have a great day, don't forget to stop by tomorrow for Creative Friday:)
