Another WIP Wednesday is here, it feels as if the days and weeks are flying by me so fast! As you can see my Shalom cardigan is shorter, this is because I have pulled it out and restarted. It was sadly, a little on the small side and I do want it to fit me in the end, so now I am following Frockfarie's modifications on Ravelry and I am much happier with the size and the fit:) Thank you Frockfarie, your cardi is beautiful!
These socks are a project Jen and I have been knitting together, I just LOVE the colourway!! Jen has now handed the project over to me to knit them for her and I am enjoying the process very much. The colourway is called Kelim and this sock wool has been dyed by my wonderful friend Carle' from Nurturing Fibres. I wish I had bought more of this yarn, too divine for words!
I have started another organic cardigan for Jenna, she has asked for one like Erin's for her birthday, so today was the cast on day and I have up until the beginning of June to finish in time for her 14th birthday.
This is what everyone is reading at the moment, Caiden is reading Farmer Boy to me in the evenings, Erin has just finished the The White Stag and is now busy with Hatchet and Jen is reading Animal Farm for her grade 8 World War history block.
What WIPs are you working on?
Happy Wednesday:) xo

Wow you all sound so busy.
ReplyDeleteso many projects!!nice..
ReplyDeleteAll of your knitting is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBig Gary Paulsen fans in this house too.
Hello Friend. Sorry that you had to restart your cardi, but rather it fits, right!?! I have posted two progress photos of my Shalom on my blog if you want to check it out. I am so happy with the way it is turning out :)
ReplyDeleteYour sock yarn is yummy! Have you tried knitting two socks at a time on two circular needles? That's a mouthful, but not as fearsome as it sounds. It's so much easier to pick up and put down than using dp needles, and it's so easy to keep the shaping and length of the two socks the same when they're being done at the same time.......and best of all, when you're done, you're done - no more dreaded Second Sock Syndrome!
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting sweaters for kids - see knitforkids.org.
Those socks look amazing! I love the colors! Good luck finishing the Shalom. I can't wait to see it on you!
ReplyDeleteLiz also read the White Stag this year.
ReplyDeleteHi Linds
ReplyDeleteWaaaay to tired to blog tonight. Up with poodie at 4am this morning and ended up knitting after that. My Cardi is looking good and I should get more done this week. I will blog it with another post sometime soon....

Your cardi looks great. I am familiar with frogging. I haven't yet partly frogged as you have here. We love Farmer Boy around here. You all are pretty busy!
ReplyDeleteYour knitting projects are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had to restart your Shalom. I knit a sweater last year that all along I knew wasn't going to work but I kept going anyway. And I ended up giving it away. So better to start over and have it fit!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! i forgot about this knitalong. now i am wanting to knit a baby surprise jacket and a shalom! : )
ReplyDeleteThose yarns are delicious! It is fun to see what projects you are working on and what the kids are reading. I'm glad you do these posts.
ReplyDeleteMy daughters class is reading 'Farmer Boy' at the moment, she loves it.
ReplyDeleteYour socks are so lovely. Lately my big WIP is the vegetable garden. Whenever I get a spare moment I'm planting or weeding.
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteWhen I started my socks I didn't have the right side needles so I had to use the double pointed ones. I would love to knit 2 socks at once, if you have any tutorial suggestions please let me know:)
Thanks,
Linda
There's a certain freedom in starting over. Better than trying to play patch-and-catch-up, anyway. Love the colorway on the socks. The little white bits worked out just lovely. How wonderful to sit in the evening and listen to a story, knowing the child reading it is growing more strong every second.
