Origami Frog Tutorial
Erin and I really enjoy Origami as long as it is a simple anough design that we can follow, it is a lot of fun:) So we were very excited when we found this little origami frog in our Readers Digest Crafts and Hobbies book and this is our attempt at making him. This is such an amazing book to own, it is just filled with beautiful projects. I have an old edition that my mom-in-law gave to me a few years ago and love it! Some of the photos are a little blurry in my tutorial, but if that doesn't bother you too much, he really is a sweet craft to make:)

I went origami crazy when I was in about Grade 4...I still remember how to make a piano, a crane, and a "turban"....the one I liked best was a "water bomb" which was a 3-D cube that you blew into to inflate...origami is wonderful! The frogs are so charming, and perfect for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteWe love Origami around here! That little frog is so cute, we'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE origami! We made these awhile ago, but I'm thinking we may just be due for some more Origami frogs! I had a girl who was visiting from Japan get me into Origami. She not only taught me the folds, but then left me all of this authentic, cute, Japanese origami paper! Bliss!

How adorable! A little while back I was searching at every craft store for some kite paper to make waldorf window stars, but all I could find that was square was these rainbow origami papers. So now that I've made a few starts, I'm left with all this paper but I had forgot all about it. I must dig it out to make these, they are just so cute!

ReplyDeleteLove the frog! We are limited with resources here in Kenya, but this is a great, simple idea that could entertain my girls for quite some time! We will give it a try! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteA very adorable little frog :) I haven't done origami in a while. This post has inspired me to pull out the paper with the wee ones. Thanks and I'll be linking on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteCute frog! The kids are loving this :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda - did my comment get lost again? Drat. It was a nice one.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! My husband and boys love origami. They like the kind that turns your eyeballs inside out though. Too complicated for me. As soon as my eyes start to go crossed eyed from the strain of all the little folds I know turning inside out comes next.
ReplyDeleteWhat charming paper!
