Thursday

The girls have been knitting themselves some long gloves for next winter, they have written their own patterns and had so much fun. I really do like how they have turned out, so pretty:)

Jenna has been working on her Revolutionaries and Romantics block,  this is a drawing she has done of Louis XIV.

I have been using these amazing books for her work, have you ever heard of The Story of the World?  Well I love it! So beautifully written and then wonderful activities from a workbook to support the learning material. There are four books in the set and well worth owning.

I was so pleased to see all these different colour blooms on this rose creeper...

I had to blog our Almond tree, we have never had an almond this size grow before, so Yay!

The Raspberry and Strawberry plants are all flowering...

Aaaah, this is our Pear tree and it has just finished flowering and it does look as if we will have pears this season:)

Peas!

Broad beans, soon I will add them to stews...

And a rather large head of broccoli...

We have enjoyed so many meals from our four little asparagus plants... this all make me so happy...

  3. Your clever knitting girls obviously take after their clever knitting mama!! Well done, mama and girls!
And Linda, your garden groceries look so fresh and delicious, really lovely photos. I can hardly wait to have ours looking so prolific - atm it's lots of bare earth.... but it has potential!!!

  8. Your garden looks wonderful!! Love those asparagus popping through! We enjoy our Kingfisher history book as well, and when the kids were younger I used to read to them from the first Story of the World book, I think I may have to order another set :) ~April

  9. Hi Linda. We're putting everything in the garden to bed soon in Massachusetts, but you have everything green and sprouting. I do envy your looking each day at something new, but I can't wait for winter and snow!

  11. I love asparagus too, the best taste fresh from the garden. your girls are so clever with their gloves, I can't even knit let alone write a pattern.

  12. I am so mightily impressed at that broccoli. Our uber-impressive looking plants yielded broccolini-ettes. You had to squint to find them. Tasted fabulous - in a fleeting sort of fashion...

(er, no, I am not much of a gardener).

  18. i am completly amazed at your daughters, how talented they are. you must be thrilled as well, they take after you so much. their gloves are truly lovely and so well made. please tell them i think they are just incredible.

and your garden, oh my. i'm just a little envious since now we live in a very small place, well the property is small as it's only a block from the ocean. so no gardens like that for me right now. yours looks amazing.
    enjoy these days dear.
