Happy Birthday to our sweet Kye! How can you be a whole six years old already? It seems like the other day you were asleep in my sling. Our beautiful boy, so full of life and joy, each day we spend with you is precious...
We love you...

Kye's Fairy Garden...
Kye has always loved, The Hollyhock Wall by Martin Waddell... It really is the sweetest little book. As soon as he opened his eyes this morning he wanted to know if I had a pot for him to build his garden in. He was inspired to build a fairy garden just like the one he has seen inside this book... This was a project for Richard and Kye, it was so sweet to see them building the garden together. Erin made a bridge from matches, a ribbon was used for a stream, a little house structure was built and plants planted here and there with some moss. Erin also made some people from corks and now they live happily in this fairy garden by our front door.... Kye is the happiest five year old in the world and declared that this was THE best day ever! I will just have to talk very nicely to our 16 chickens and ask them to please not go and scratch in this pot as the fairies live there now:)
Take care...
Linda xo

Resting Quietly...
The flu has found its way into our home once again, our littlest one, Kye, is ill... He woke this morning coughing, with a very high fever.... his sisters and brother have made him a comfy, soft bed in the library where he can be close to all of us and we have a fire warming the room. He is surrounded with love... He seems so small lying here, even though he is five...
Today will be a restful day of peacefulness to help this little person heal...
It might be quiet here, in this space, for a few days...
****Kye Update****
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments about Kye yesterday, I really appreciate them:) He is much better today, still a little flat but much more like himself:)
Love to all
Linda

Kye's Milo Vest is Finished!
Today I finished Kye's Milo vest! I love how it looks on him. I did make it a size larger than his age so that he could wear it for a couple of winters. He really enjoyed showing it off when he noticed I was taking photos:) I knitted it in a cotton DK from Colourspun it is such a wonderful and easy pattern.
Caiden, who was sitting nearby, noticed that Kye was wearing his new vest and asked me when I could knit him something:) He has asked me to knit him a jersey for winter so I had better start now. He has decided he would like a long sleeve sweater, mostly moss green with flecks of brown within the green.... Well, I will have to mix up some dye first and give this a try! How exciting! A knitting request! I can't wait to start. I am really enjoying knitting these large projects, the only problem is that once I pick up my knitting, I can't seem to put it down... and there are so many other things that need doing, like cooking, cleaning etc... Does anyone else suffer from the same predicament? Off to look for a sweater pettern... any ideas?
I hope you are all having a peaceful weekend:) xo
