Yarn Along
I have been looking for another shawl to knit and I have found the Multnomah Shawl a free pattern, you can see all the projects that have been knitted using this pattern on Ravelry. It is beautiful and such an easy knit. I am going to make mine slightly larger than the pattern, I am knitting it up in Nurturing Fibres sock wool, the variegated rainbow colours pop up here and there amongst the charcoal black of the wool, love it!
I am so excited about this apple! Our first apple and this is its actual size:)
I am reading Charlotte Mason in preparation for next year's homeschooling and listening to An Irish Country Doctor on my I Pod while I knit.
Can you believe how fast these mushrooms have grown since the last time I posted about them?
Joining Ginny for the Yarn Along.
Happy Wednesday

I knit a Multnomah earlier this year. I really like it and hope to actually use it now that our temperatures have moved down. I love the little pops of color in that yarn.
ReplyDeleteThe shawl is beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shawl Linda and you are so right about the kerchief being a nice quick knit :) You are going to love the Charlotte Mason companion to. It's full of so much wonderful information :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you cast on Multnomah and are reading/listening to an Irish Country Doctor! Is it read in an Irish accent? : )
ReplyDeleteI added your last shawl to my queue and can't wait to knit it for myself!
I used the Charlotte Mason method for many years, great read! Have you read any of Elizabeth Foss's books? Very nice shawl.
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful linda, i love all the colors too. i just love shawls.
ReplyDeleteand those mushrooms are huge.
:)
What à beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteI see now that I was entirely correct in being frightened of the mushrooms. at this rate, they should take over the world in exactly 29.3 days. We had our first ever cherries on the thirty year old tree this year. The thrill of a real apple being born is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that yarn is fab and it'll look great in that pattern :) Can't wait to see it as it progresses
ReplyDeleteYou are going to love this pattern, I have knit it twice!! Is it sweltering hot by you today? I feel like I may just melt. I want to start knitting something new, but I think it's too hot for it?!?
ReplyDeleteI have been saying I am going to cast on the same pattern and now seeing yours really makes me want to start. It is a beautiful shawl.
ReplyDeleteYes, your mushrooms are huge. My husband and I were just talking about trying to grow some here, it's something we haven't tried yet.
xx
I missed your mushroom post - are these growing wild or are you growing them from a kit? If so, where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteI love that knitting pattern and the variegated colors of the yarn.
great colorway on the shawl! I love the variegated with gray. Those mushrooms are amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to be back! Happy reading... ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Very pretty! I recognised Carle's yarn the minute my eyes saw your fist photograph. It is fantastic yarn to use for shawls!
ReplyDeleteI have Multnomah in the queue to knit so will look forward to watching yours grow in hope that it will inspire me to finally cast on. Amazing apple! Amazing mushrooms, too!
ReplyDeletegreat yarn, can't wait to see how it all turns out, think I have that pattern on my ravelry list too.
ReplyDeletehugs from across the world xx
I have that shawl in my Ravelry queue as a make for myself, lot's of gifting to plan around first though. Yours is looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteI keep planning to read some of Charlotte Masons work but I never remember to look out for it in the appropriate places....
xx
Hi Linda, thanks for popping over! May I say that your elephant is just wonderful, how exciting about your book : ) This shawl will be beautiful, love the wavy edges. Can't wait to see how it goes x
ReplyDeleteIt looks like mushrooms grow just as fast in a box as they do in my grass, lol. Goodness.
ReplyDeleteI finished my first Multnomah today, yeah!!!Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat book. A friend gave me a list of whole living books for the kids to read. It's quite worn!
ReplyDeleteYou must be able to see those mushrooms growing they are huge...when do you get to eat them?? Nice apple too! We don't have apples and this year the birds learnt how to get under the nets so they got the nectarines, plums and peaches and the possums ate the middle of the oranges and just left us the skins :-( Lovely shawl, I love the edging to it.
ReplyDeletePS did you get the link for Lucy's blog? I noticed you used a different email but it should still work? :-)
beautiful yarn and pattern. thanks for the great link.
ReplyDeleteI intend to do a Multnomah before too long. Thankyou for interesting reading.
